Animals are like little angels sent to earth to teach us how to love

1 May 2019

First of all I want to say thank you to “Fall in love with Hainan” program.

If I had not joined this program, I would have missed all these beautiful places. And, just this weekend I discovered that Haikou has a zoo. The wildlife park was located outside of Haikou. After about 30 minutes, we came to Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park and Botanical Garden. The ecological environment made of valleys and lakes with high content of oxygen anion, fresh air and high forest coverage really makes you relaxed and carefree.

When we arrived, friendly people greeted us warmly with guidance.  It was interesting for me to have a various kinds of animals. At the beginning we came to see a 24 year old female named Juambu. The Juambu come from Thailand. For me, it was so emotional cause it was my first time to see an elephant.

Feeling the beat of the bamboo dance

Next we watched hainan’s traditional dance named Bamboo. Some persons of our team danced with them, it was so funny.  I heard the bamboo dance is popular. Two bamboo poles are put on the ground abreast of each other with several inches between them. Other bamboo poles are put across them. Young men crouch on both sides holding one end of the poles, moving them around in a set rhythm. The dancers jump and turn as the bamboo poles come together and spread apart. The pole holders will slowly accelerate as the dance reaches a climax, accompanied with people’s cheering and laughing.

Of course garden’s environment so beautiful. I liked.

There was also lots of opportunities to feed the animals for a small fee (elephants, camels, monkeys, hippos etc).

There were elephant, camels, monkeys and surprisingly crocodiles! Crocodile was very interested for me. Crocodiles eat a variety of fish, birds and other animals. Do you know? Most crocodiles live in fresh water rivers and lakes but some live in salt water. The saltwater crocodile is the largest species of crocodile.

Finally we met the Panda! That panda was more adorable than I ever imagined. They ate and rolled like a little baby. Panda world is located in the tropical rainforest, surrounded by lakes, bamboo forests with beautiful scenery. There are three parts in the room such as living area of panda, outdoor sports area of panda and indoor activity area of panda. The temperature of the room is below 25ºc with a design of imitation of the ecological environment.

And there were two pandas. First is Gong Gong, male, born on August 18, 2013, is brave enough to interact with tourists and loves all kinds  of activities.

Next is Shun Shun, male, born on August 27, 2013, is timid, cautious, vigilant and sensitive to noises and sounds of water.

Finally said it all really liked me. If you are coming to Haikou city, I'm sure you will like it if you have not seen wildlife before.

If you’re coming from Haikou, drive through Guilin Yang Main Street and just as you’re about to leave the town and hit countryside again it’s on your right hand side, keep your eyes open because it’s quite easy to miss.
